The We Art Water Foundation starts the year with good results in the fourth edition of the We Art Water Film Festival competition, with a large number of pre-registrants. The event, which was inaugurated in the framework of the 65th edition of the San Sebastian Film Festival, has an exceptional jury including Leonor Watling, Úrsula Corberó, Pablo Rivero and Irene Escolar among other professionals from the cultural world.
Once the period of presentation of the short films has begun, there are already 89 countries that are represented. Among them, a large number of participants from India, Africa and Latin America, countries where the problem of water and sanitation is the order of the day and where the Foundation has many ongoing projects.
The period of registration and presentation of projects will be open until April 3. It is expected that this fourth edition will end with good results and suppose growth for the Festival, which aims to publicize the reality of the lack of water resources and sanitation in the world, through audiovisual pieces between 1 and 3 minutes that address this issue in three different categories: documentary, fiction and animation.

During the next months and until the deliberation of the jury from April 4, it is expected that participants prepare and upload their short films to the official website of the Festival, there is up to € 10,000 in prizes.
Closely related to the theme of the contest, the short film «El hombre de agua dulce» by the filmmaker Álvaro Ron and the production company Rosana Tomás in collaboration with the We Are Water Foundation, which was also presented at the San Sebastian Festival, is a candidate to the Oscar and shortlisted to the Goya as best fiction short film. The short film, which tells the problem of drought and the poor use of water from the perspective of a mute girl, can be seen in Feelmakers.com, a portal that will donate to the Foundation all the funds collected for the construction of a water well and a sanitary system at the St. Mary Kevin Orphanage in Uganda.
About the fourth edition of the We Art Water Film Festival
This new edition has the institutional collaboration of the United Nations Organization through UNRIC (Regional Information Center of the United Nations for Western Europe) and the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences of Spain and Fotogramas. It also has the private support of Nissan and Cheese of Switzerland.
