After it was postponed for almost three months, the bidding will be held on June 19
The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) today on its website that on 19 June will be held the first tender of round 2, after it was postponed for almost three months when it was scheduled to be on 22 March last.
At the time, the secretariat of Energy (Sener) estimated that the first call for bids for Round 2 will generate investments of $11 thousand 250 million dollars and generate approximately 30,000 direct jobs and up to 80 thousand indirect.
On 22 December last, the CNH and the secretariats of energy and finance and public Credit reported changes to the timetable for the basis of this first tender, «that serve the interest of the Mexican state and the recommendations of the industry to ensure greater participation of companies and thus increase competition and investment.
According to CNH, the opening and submission of proposals, as well as the declaration of winning bidders, will be held on 19 June next.
(«Sener») explained that in each of the 15 areas covered for the first tender process, at least $750 million will be invested during the 30-year contract life.
The 15 blocks are located in shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico and have associated prospective resources that are estimated in thousand 587 million of barrels of crude oil equivalent, as well as a remnant volume of 869 million of barrels.
They are located in front of the coast of the state of Veracruz which contemplates seven fields; Tabasco, also with seven, and Campeche, with one.
It is expected that the first barrels of this call begin to occur approximately in the year 2020.
